In a shocking incident, a Kali Mata temple is attacked in Murshidabad district of West Bengal. Unknown miscreants broke the Murti of Kali Mata and Bhagwan Shiva.

As per the information, the incident happened in Singar village under the jurisdiction of Nabagram Police Station of Murshidabad district. This morning, locals found that the temple doors were broken, and the Murti of Kali Mata inside the temple was also broken.

As the news spread, local Hindus gathered in front of the temple in large numbers. They said that miscreants probably targeted the temple on the night of the 22nd of January. They have no idea who did this.

According to locals, the hands of the Kali Mata are broken, and the head of Bhagwan Shiva is also broken. Besides, other things used in the Puja are also vandalised. As of now, no one has been arrested.

Notably, Hindus are the minority in the district of Murshidabad. Often, Hindu temples come under attack in the different parts of the district. Also, abductions of Hindu girls were reported earlier. Last year, in November, unknown miscreants attacked a Kali Mata temple in the Baranya block of the district. Miscreants cut the head of the Bhagwan Shiva and fled. In the same month of November last year, a Muslim youth entered a Shiva temple in the Salar block of the district and urinated on the Shivalinga. And in most of the cases, the Police arrested Muslim youths. But, later, the arrested youths were levelled as mentally unstable.
