Monthly Hindu Persecution Report of West Bengal: April, 2025

The Persecution of the Hindu community in the state of West Bengal is continuing. But, from the start of the Year 2025, the numbers of attacks have increased. In every district, due to the appeasement politics of the current state government, the Islamic radical elements have become desperate. In the month of April, 2025, Hindus faced Jihadi attacks. We compiled them, so that people do not forget.

• West Medinipur(01.04.2025): Unidentified goons attacked Hindu Sadhu Sri Hiranmay Goswami Maharaj in Raghunathpur village under the jurisdiction of Daspur Police Station. Bhakts took Maharaj to the hospital for treatment.
• Jalpaiguri(01.04.2025): A minor Hindu girl is allegedly murdered by her two friends named Maher Sheikh and Rohit Roy in New Jalpaiguri. Later, they threw her body in the forest.
• North 24 Parganas(05.04.2025): During the early morning hours, unknown miscreants attacked a Basanti Puja Mandap in the Kachhari Bari area under the jurisdiction of Gobardanga Police Station. Culprits broke the Murti and then set it on fire.
• Kolkata(08.04.2025): TMC leader Dipak Dhali beat up a Hindu youth for putting up a banner of Ram Navami. Dipak Dhali is a member of Chandpur Panchayat in Arbelia near Rajarhat.
• East Medinipur(08.04.2025): A case of brutal rape and torture has come from Kolaghat of East Medinipur district where an Islamist named Mantaj Hossain(25) raped a minor Hindu girl. After the rape, Mantaj inserted a fork in her anus and fled. Later, the Police arrested him from New Town area of Kolkata.
• Kolkata(10.04.2025): During the protest against the ‘Waqf Amendment Act’, a Muslim mob forced a Hindu bus driver to remove the saffron flag. The Police were just mute spectators.
• Hooghly(11.04.2025): In Chanpadani, Muslim mob attacked and vandalized Hindu-owned shops during the protest rally against the newly passed Waqf Amendment act.
• Murshidabad(12.04.2025): Thousands of armed Islamists attacked several Hindu villages in Dhuliyan of Murshidabad district. Islamists attacked Betbona, Dighri and Jafrabad village. Hindu houses were looted, vandalized and then were set ablaze. Gold ornaments of Hindu women were looted. Domestic cows and goats were also looted from the Hindu houses. All the Hindu temples of the above-mentioned villages were also broken and damaged. All the Hindu owned shops were looted and were set ablaze. To save their lives, many Hindu families left the village and fled to Maldah district by crossing the Ganga river. BSF rushed to control the violence. Later, the Central Forces were deployed in those villages.
• Murshidabad(13.04.2025): Islamists brutally murdered father Hargovinda Das and his son Chandan Das in Jafrabad village under the jurisdiction of the Samserganj Police Station. Parul Das, wife of late Hargovinda Das, filed a written complaint against Yusuf Sheikh, Akbar Sheikh, Hazrat Ali, Kalu Nadar, Nurul Sheikh and Ansar Ali. All are locals.
• Nadia(15.04.2025): On the night of Eid, 5 men (4 Muslims and 1 Hindu) gang-raped a married Hindu woman in Nabadwip. The culprits also physically abused her minor daughter. The Police arrested all the accused.
• North Dinajpur(21.04.2025): Islamists attacked a Hindu family in Basudevpur village of Raiganj. On the morning of 21^st of April, Islamists named Rashid and Saddam and others attacked the house of Bidhan Majumder. The Islamists broke their house completely. The Hindu family alleged that Islamists were forcing them to sell their home for the last few months. But, they did not agree. To save their lives, Bidhan Majumder and his wife fled and were hiding in a corn field.
• Maldah(23.04.2025): The Police crushed the protest of the Hindu villagers in Sekendarpur village under the jurisdiction of English Bazaar Police Station. Hindu villagers were protesting against the murder of a Hindu youth. Hindu youth Nimai Mondal was murdered while he and others were guarding the village at night.
• West Medinipur(24.04.2025): 4 Islamists cut the tail of a sacred Nandi Maharaj in Kazirhat village under the jurisdiction of Ghatal Police Station. Angry Hindus let out a protest rally in the village demanding the arrest of all the accused. Later, in the afternoon, the Hindu villagers gathered in a place inside the village. The Police reached there and mercilessly did lathi-charge on the Hindus. Small children and women were beaten badly. At least, 10 Hindus were seriously injured.
• Howrah(24.04.2025): Due to the constant torture by the Islamists, a Hindu family was forced to leave their ancestral home with two children. In a video, Dipak Chowdhury and his wife described the atrocities which they faced. The incident is from Chatterjee Haat area of Santragachhi.
• North 24 Parganas(26.04.2025): In Duttapukur area, the West Bengal Police stopped Hindu youths from burning the ‘Pakistani flag’. The Police said (in a viral video), ‘You can’t burn Pakistani flag here. It’s a sensitive area.’
• Howrah(27.04.2025): On the night of 27^th April, Islamists, armed with sharp weapons attacked Hindus in a Kali Puja Mandap in Bhagawatipur village under the jurisdiction of Sankrail Police Station. Some Muslims came to Puja Mandap and were harassing and teasing Hindu girls. Hindus protested and told them to leave. They left, but returned within half an hour. Armed with sharp weapons, Islamists attacked with Hindus and stabbed. 5 Hindus were injured. Amar Patra, Debashis Barik, Bishnu Sardar, Bijoy Singh and Chandu Barik were injured.
