West Bengal: Islamists attacked a Hindu family in Uttar Dinajpur for not selling their homes

Attacks on the Hindu community continue in West Bengal. A fresh case has been reported from the Uttar Dinajpur district where Islamists attacked a Hindu family for not selling their homes. The incident happened on the morning of 21st of April, 2024. 

Bidhan Majumder with his family used to live in Basudebpur village under the jurisdiction of Raiganj Police Station of Uttar Dinajpur district. His home is situated in a Muslim-dominated locality. For the last few months, some local Muslims were allegedly forcing them to sell their homes. But, Bidhan Majumder didn’t agree. 

On the morning of Monday, 21st of April, Islamists allegedly attacked their home. The Islamists beat them and completely destroyed their home. To save their lives, they somehow managed to run away from their home and his in a corn field. 

From the corn field, Bidhan Majumder and his wife made a video about the incidents and posted the video on Facebook. They mentioned the names of the accused Islamists who attacked their homes. 

Soon the video went viral in the different social media platforms. The Opposition Party of West Bengal, BJP took the issue and targeted the TMC-led Mamata Banerjee government. BJP leaders alleged that Hindus are not safe in the state and islamic radicals has gone rogue due to the appeasement politics.
