Howrah: Christian School opposed Saraswati Puja, Hindu students protested

A christian school of Howrah of West Bengal opposed Saraswati Puja in school campus. Yesterday, angry with the school management, students boycotted class and staged protest at school gate.

Hindu students alleged that in past years, Saraswati Puja was being celebrated at school. But this year principal and school management opposing Saraswati Puja. Hindu students said that they want to perform Puja in school campus.

Later, school management informed police of Howrah station. Police tried to pacify the angry students. Today, a meeting will held with students and management regarding the demand of Saraswati Puja.

In Howrah Maidan area, “Maria’s Days School” is stiuated. It’s a English medium school and most of the students study here come from Hindu community.
