Bangladesh: Islamists attacked Hindu temple and broke Murtis in Jhalkathi

Hindu persecution continues in Muslim-majority Bangladesh. This time, Islamists attacked a Hindu minority family in the Jhalkathi district of Bangladesh.

As per reports by Ekattor TV of Bangladesh, on the 7th of October morning, a gang of Islamists attacked the house of Dhiren Pal. The Islamists vandalised the house and struck the temple adjacent to his house. 

The Islamists attacked the temple of Maa Manasa. They broke three Murtis inside the temple and threw them outside. Besides, other things used in worship are also vandalised. Then they left the area.

Notably, the victim family of Dhiren Pal lives at Charkutubnagar village under Jhalkathi Sadar Upazila of Jhalkathi district. 

As the news of the attack spread, leaders of the Hindu minority community with the Police reached the village. They inspected the place. A complaint also has been filed. The Police already started the investigation.

Officer-in-charge of the Jhalkathi Sadar Police Station, Naser Uddin Sarker, said, “We have received the complaint. We are trying to identify the accused. After which, I promise, all perpetrators will be arrested.”
