2024: Yearly Hindu Persecution Report of West Bengal

In 2024, Hindus were attacked, temples were vandalised, Hindu girls were raped and murdered in different districts of West Bengal. As mainstream media entities never publish the news of Hindu persecution, many doubt the authenticity of those news when we publish. But, all the news below are true and all the evidences are available in our Portal and ‘X’ handle. We hope that this report of ours will make aware people about the reality, about the painful condition of the marginalised Hindus of West Bengal.

JANUARY

1. Maldah(03.01.2024): Saddam Hossain, a Muslim teacher of ‘Birnagar H.S School’ told the Hindu students to eat ‘beef’ on the 22nd of January( 22nd January is the day of Sri Ram Mandir Pran Pratistha). Angry Hindu students and local Hindu residents staged a protest against the hateful comment by the Muslim teacher Saddam Hossain.
2. Purulia(13.01.2024): In Kashipur of Purulia district, 3 Hindu Sadhus were tortured, stripped naked and beaten. Some miscreants had spread rumours against the Sadhus. The Sadhus, originally from Uttar Pradesh, were on their way to the Gangasagar. The Sadhus were recovered by the Police from the angry mob.
3. Murshidabad(22.01.2024): On the night of 22nd of January, unknown miscreants attacked a Kali Mata temple in Singar village under the jurisdiction of Nabagram Police Station. The Murti of Kali Mata and Bhagwan Shiva were broken.
4. Birbhum(22.01.2024): Islamists attacked a rally of Hindu devotees in Jethupara village under the jurisdiction of Muhammad Bazar Police Station. Some Hindu youths organised the rally to celebrate ‘Ram Mandir Pran Pratistha’.
5. West Medinipur(28.01.2024): A Hindu girl named Sima Sarkar became a victim of Love Jihad. Sima is a resident of Mohanpur village under the jurisdiction of garbeta Police Station. She left home with her Muslim boyfriend.

FEBRUARY

1. Coochbehar(03.02.2024): On the night of 3rd of February, unknown miscreants broke an under-construction Ram Mandir in Bhetaguri. Local Hindus were building a Ram Mandir in the area.
2. Murshidabad(04.02.2024): On the night of 4th of February, unknown miscreants broke several under-construction Murtis of Maa Saraswati in Baharampur town. The Murtis were being made for the upcoming Saraswati Puja.
3. Maldah(21.02.2024): An Islamist named Muhammad Aftab alias Ashfaq set ablaze a Kali Murti of a temple in Krishnanagar village under the jurisdiction of English Bazar Police Station. Local Hindus caught him on the spot and handed him over to the Police. Local Hindus extinguished the fire and saved the temple. The Kali Mata temple is more than 100 years old.
4. Coochbehar(22.02.2024): The Police arrested 4 iranian citizens with fake Adhar cards. They entered India illegally through Nepal border. They were arrested from Coochbehar town on the night of 22nd of February.

MARCH

1. East Medinipur(03.03.2024): A fresh case of Murti vandalism has been reported from the powerhouse area under the jurisdiction of Kolaghat Police Station of East Medinipur district of West Bengal. In the morning of 3rd of March, residents of the powerhouse locality saw the Hanuman temple vandalised. They saw that the face of the Bhagwan Hanuman had been damaged. A resident said, “Unknown miscreants tried to break the face of the Hanuman Murti with a brick. It is evident from the damaged marks seen on the face.
2. North Dinajpur(08.03.2024): On the night of 8th of March, Friday, Islamists backed by local TMC leaders allegedly attacked the family of Rajkumar Das. Rajkumar Das is a Hindutva leader and a known BJP worker in Altapur village under the jurisdiction of karandighi Police Station. Islamists molested her wife, vandalised and looted the house and also valdalised and desecreted the family temple.
3. Darjeeling(11.03.2024): The Police and the RAF mercilessly lathicharged upon the ABVP workers. ABVP workers called for a rally in protest of the Sandeshkhali issue.
4. Murshidabad(26.03.2024): On the day of Holi, Islamists allegedly held captive and beaten a Hindu youth inside a mosque for chanting ‘Jai Sri Ram’. After receiving the information, the Police from Shaktipur Police Station reached there and recovered the Hindu boy from the Islamist mob. The incident is from the Sompara village under the jurisdiction of Shaktipur Police Station of Murshidabad district.

APRIL

1. Birbhum(01.04.2024): A Hindu woman alleged that the Police tortured and verbally abused her on the order of the local TMC councillor. She also alleged that her temple was also demolished. On Monday (1st April), a video of a Hindu woman went viral on social media wherein she accused local goons of destroying her temple and forcibly occupying her land in cahoots with the local police. Durga Roy is a resident of ward no 2 of Bolpur municipality of Birbhum district. The area comes under the jurisdiction of Shantiniketan Police Station. The woman alleged that the land mafia Sheikh Hasan tried to grab her land. Local councillor Chandan Mandal and local police were also helping them.
2. East Bardhaman(02.04.2024): A Muslim businessman stopped the Harinama Sankritana program in the Kashthashali market under the jurisdiction of the Purbasthali Police Station of East Bardhaman district. After the intervention of the police, the Harinama Sankritana resumed.
3. Kolkata(06.04.2024): On the morning of 6th of April, around 11.30 AM, Islamist mob attacked a Shitala Mata Puja mandap in Chitpur area of Kolkata town. Islamist mob also attacked and vandalised a Sri Bajrangbali temple, situated beside the Puja mandap and broke the Murti. Islmaist mob demanded to stop loudspeakers of the Puja Mandap during Azan. But, local Hindus didn’t agree.
4. Murshidabad(13.04.2024): On the night of 13th of April, Islamic radicals attacked Shiv Bhakts in Satui area. A Shiva temple was vandalised. The Murti was broken.
5. Murshidabad(17.04.2024): Islamists attacked a Ram Navami Shobhayatra in Shaktipur of Murshidabad district. Islamists threw stones at the peaceful Shobhayatra from the roofs of the houses. Islamists also allegedly threw country-made mobs at the Ram Bhakts.
6. South 24 Parganas(19.04.2024): After Friday namaz, Islamists attacked ‘Desh Gaurav Higher Secondary School’ in Chaitanyapur village under the jurisdiction of Mandir Bazar Police Station of South 24 Parganas district. Islamists beat up Hindu teachers and vandalised the school. A massive police force reached the school and controlled the situation.

MAY

1. North 24 Parganas(06.05.2024): Unidentified thieves targeted a Hindu temple in Sandeshkhali. Thieves targeted Sri Sri Radha Govinda temple in Sarberia village. All the valuable ornaments from the Vigraha were stolen. Also, a Murti, made of valuable stone, was stolen.
2. Birbhum(17.05.2024): Hindu Janajatia people of Murgabuni village were deprived of water in hot summer month of May, only for supporting BJP in the Lok Sabha elections. Locals alleged the role of TMC-backed goons behind this incident. The Murgabuni village comes under the jurisdiction of Ilam Bazar Police Station.
3. Jalpaiguri(18.05.2024): Several Hindu temples came under attack in Dhupguri area of Jalpaiguri district. The incident happened on the night of 17th of May. Unknown miscreants attacked a kali Mata temple, a Ram temple and a Hari Thakur temple. All the Murtis of the temples were broken. On the morning of 18th of May, angry Hindus went to the nearby Kholaigram railway Station and blocked the railway track for hours.
4. Murshidabad(24.05.2024): Hindu villagers of Kumargram village under the jurisdiction of Domkol Police Station organised a Harinama Sinkritana in the village. The Harinama was being played in the loudspeakers. But, after receiving objections fron the Muslim villagers, the Police came and removed the loudspeakers to maintain the communal harmony.
5. Nadia(29.05.2024): Hindu voters couldn’t participate in the Lok Sabha elections due to the threat and torture by the Islamic radicals. Hindu voters of 92 and 97 No. Polling booth of Haringhata block of Nadia district demanded a separate polling station outside Mollaberia village.
6. Nadia(30.05.2024): A Hindu girl named Kamini Agarwal(name changed) became a victim of Love Jihad. She was a resident of Kalyani town. She fled with a youth named Soyeb Ali. A case was filed in Kalyani Police Station, FIR NO.- 343/24.

JUNE

1. South 24 Parganas(05.06.2024): Islamists, armed with country-made bombs and pistols, attacked Hindu families in 7 No. Kumrakhali village under the jurisdiction of Basanti Police Station of South 24 Parganas district. Hindus of the village belong t the SC community. Islamists abused, beat the women, used slur ‘child of low caste, will rape you and put babies in your womb’.
2. South 24 Parganas(05.06.2024): Islamists attacked Hindus in Charavidya village under the jurisdiction of Basanti Police Station. Country-made bombs were hurled at the Hindu houses. Also, many houses of the Hindus were vandalised.
3. Murshidabad(13.06.2024): A school teacher of ‘Raghunathganj HS School’ told girls not to apply Tilaks on forehead and not to wear Tulasi beads. Local Hindus got angry. In protest, Hindus protested in front of the school, by doing Kirtan.
4. Murshidabad(18.06.2024): On the morning of 18th of June, Islamists attacked Hindu villagers in Malancha village under the jurisdiction of Samserganj Police Station of Murshidabad district. Houses and shops of Hindus were vandalised and looted.
5. Birbhum(19.06.2024): On the day of Bakri Eid, pieces of beef were thrown in the temple in Margram. Local Hindus chased and caught 1 Islamist. OC of Margram Police Station, Muhammad Mikail Miyan had refused to lodge a complaint. Local Hindus under the leaderships of VHP, organised a protest rally.
6. Howrah(20.06.2024): Unknown miscreants kept beef in a bag in the road in front of a Shiva temple in Bauria. After noticing the bag, local Hindus gathered in front of the temple. The Police were informed.

JULY

1. West Medinipur(04.07.2024): Sheikh saqlig Hossain allegedly abducted a minor Hindu girl named Anjana Dolui(Name Changed) from Ghatal area. Her father failed a complaint in Ghatal Police Station. But, the Police failed to recover the girl. Later, her father filed a petition in the Calcutta High Court.
2. Birbhum(04.07.2024): Government funded school allocated special time for Friday namaz. ‘Jitemdralal Vidyabhaban’ School in Rampurhat did this and released a notice.
3. Birbhum(05.07.2024): Hindu girl Tumpa Chowdhury(Name Changed) became a victim of Love Jihad and conversion. She was brainwashed and converted to Islam. Later, she fled from her home and married a Muslim boy. tumpa was aresident of kapasdanga village under the jurisdiction of Muhammad Bazar Police Station.
4. South Dinajpur(09.07.2024): The Police arrested a Hindu teacher named Ashutosh Pal. he is a teacher of ‘Ashokgram High School’. He allegedly told a Muslim girl student to come to school by wearing uniform, not burqa and hijab. Based on the complaint of Muslim girl’s family, the Gangarampur Police arrested the teacher. Later, the Court sent the teacher to 14 days of judicial custody.
5. Murshidabad(11.07.2024): On the evening of 11th of July, Islamists attacked the traditional ‘Kalas Yatra’ in Bati village of Jiyaganj block of Murshidabad district. Islamists raised objections that dharmic Shobhayatra should not be allowed in front of the mosque. Islamists attacked Hindus with swords and guns. Bullets were fired. Based on the complaint by a Islamist, the Police arrested 7 Hindus. Yes, you read it right. The Police arrested Hindus.
6. Birbhum(13.07.2024): Islamists attacked a train in Chinpai Station. Islamists stopped the train, pelted stones, vandalised the train. Islamists were demanding to stop the train near a ground between Chinpai and Dubrajpur railway Station.
7. South 24 Parganas(18.07.2024): A Muslim youth named Afridi Molla abducted a minor Hindu girl named Sumita Ghoshal(Name Changed). After the complaint, the Police recovered the minor Hindu girl, but didn’t arrest the accused youth Afridi. Also, POCSO was not added by the Usthi Police Station. While she was in captivity, she was brainwashed and converted in Islam.
8. Kolkata(20.07.2024): Muzammil Mohasin, a Muslim youth from Kannur of Kerala, trapped a Hindu girl of Kolkata in Love Jihad. Muzammil sexually exploited and tortured the Hindu girl. Later, Muzammil extorted money from the Hindu girl by blackmailing her. A complint was filed, but the Police didn’t arrest the accused Muzammil.
9. Coochbehar(21.07.2024): Hindu girl, Sharmila Bhowmik became a victim of Love Jihad and fled with a Muslim youth named Manowar Hossain.
10. Murshidabad(21.07.2024): A Hindu girl named Ananya Ghosh became a victim of Love Jihad and conversion gang. After being converted into Islam, she left home. She was a resident of Nabagram of Murshidabad district.
11. Kolkata(23.07.2024): Muslim youth Rahul Mubarak(19) murdered his Hindu girlfriend Puja Chakraborty. Mubarak then put the body in a jute packet and threw the body in the canal.
12. West Medinipur(24.07.2024): Christian Missionaries were trying to convert Hindu villagers through the healing program in Garbeta. Local Hindus protested and filed a written complaint in garbeta Police Station. Surprisingly, the Police didn’t take any action against the Christian Missionaries.

AUGUST

1. Maldah(03.08.2024): A shocking case of Love Jihad has been reported from the Maldah district of West Bengal. A married Hindu woman became a victim of a Love trap and did suicide on the 3rd of August, 2024. Her family members alleged that the Muslim youth first trapped her in love and took money from her by threatening to make her private photos public. The Hindu woman was a resident of the English Bazaar area of Maldah district. She was married. She had a daughter. But due to the scuffle with her husband, she started to live separately.
2. Coochbehar(26.08.2024): Islamist named Khoybor Miyan(50) raped a minor Hindu girl(8) in Rajpur village under Chandamari Gram Panchayat of Coochbehar district. The Police arrested Khoybor Miyan.
3. Nadia(29.08.2024): The deadbody of a girl was found on rail tracks near Kutipara rail gate in Bagula of Nadia district. The girl was allegedly raped, murdered and was thrown on the rail tracks.
4. Coochbehar(30.08.2024): On 30th of August, in Dinhata college of Coochbehar district, TMCP(students wing of TMC) leader Amir Alam locked 13 girls in a toilet for not joining the TMCP’s rally. One Hindu girl named Annapurna Barman became ill and was admitted to the hospital.

SEPTEMBER

1. North 24 Parganas(02.09.2024): To save themselves from the persecution, a Hindu family from Bangladesh came to India illegally through the jungles of the Sundarban. The Police arrested the 11 members of the Hindu family.
2. Hooghly(06.09.2024): On the evening of 6th of September, a minor Hindu girl was abducted and gang-raped. The culprits threw her on the road after the heinous act.
3. North 24 Parganas(09.09.2024): On the night of 9th of September, unknown miscreants broke Durga Murti in Majher Sarberia village under the jurisdiction of Sandeshkhali Police Station.
4. Hooghly(14.09.2024): On the night of 14th of September, unknown miscreants broke a under-construction Durga Murti and other Murtis in Jharia village under the jurisdiction of Goghat Police Station. Local Hindus said that the culprits targeted and desecrated the private pparts of the Devi Murtis.
5. Maldah(17.09.2024): On the night of 17th of September, unknown miscreants attacked a Vishwakarma Puja Mandap in Gajol of Maldah district. The head of the Vishwakarma Murti was cut and thrown on the ground.
6. Birbhum(18.09.2024): A whole Hindu family has been converted into Islam. Islamists converted 5 members of a Hindu family in Kanhaipur village under Hason Assembly Constituency of Birbhum district. The video of the conversion went viral on different social media platforms.
7. South 24 Parganas(23.09.2024): In Baruipur, a Muslim woman was caught by local Hindus while she had been trying to break the Shiva Murti with a stone. The Muslim woman entered inside the temple with a stone and attacked the Murti. Some parts of the Murti were vandalised.
8. Murshidabad(27.09.2024): A Muslim teacher named Ehsan Ali scolded a Hindu student for coming to school wearing ‘Tulasi Beads’. The incident happened on 24th of September in ‘Ramnagar HS School’ under the jurisdiction of Shaktipur Police Station of Murshidabad district.
9. Coochbehar(29.09.2024): Unknown miscreants put a cut head of cow in a under-construction Durga Puja Mandap in Khalisamari area under the jurisdiction of Shitalkuchi Police Station.

OCTOBER

1. South 24 Parganas(04.10.2024): Islamist Mustakin Sarder abducted, raped and murdered a minor Hindu girl(10) in Mahishmari village under the jurisdiction of Kultali Police Station of South 24 Parganas district. Local Hindus attacked Mahishmari Police Outpost citing police inaction. Later, Police arrested Mustakin Sarder.
2. Alipurduar(10.10.2024): On the evening of 10th of October, during the Sandhya Arti of Durga Puja, Islamists entered a Durga Puja mandap in Falakata. Islamic goons threatened to break the Durga Murti if loudspeakers of Puja Mandap, dhak, dhols and Shankha Dhwani were not stopped.
3. Kolkata(11.10.2024): Islamic mob forcibly entered a Durga Puja Mandap in Garden Reach area of Kolkata. They threatened to stop loudspeakers, disrupted dharmic rituals and threatened to break the Murti. The Puja committee filed a complaint.
4. Howrah(13.10.2024): Islamists attacked a Durga Puja Mandap in Shyampur. The Murti of Durga Mata was vandalised. Islamists were protesting against the alleged insult of their prophet.
5. Howrah(14.10.2024): Islamists attacked Hindu devotees in Bauria who were in a immersion procession. Massive police force rushed to the spot and controlled the radical mob.
6. Hooghly(14.10.2024): On the night of 14th of October, unknown miscreants attacked and broke 4 Laxmi Pratima, which were being made for the upcoming Puja, in Chandannagar.
7. South 24 Parganas(16.10.2024): Islamists attacked a Laxmi Puja Mandap in Bawali Rathtala area under the jurisdiction of NodakhaliPolice Station. The Murti was vandalised.
8. Coochbehar(16.10.2024): BJP MP from Rajyasabha, Nagen Roy attacked a Hindu Sadhu in Sitai. Nagen Roy allegedly harassed and beat up Swami Biggonananda Maharaj of Ramkrishna-Vivekananda Ashram. Angry Hindus blocked road for hours. As the incident became viral, BJP MP used his political influence and filed several complaints against the Maharaj in difeerent Police Stations.
9. Murshidabad(25.10.2024): The Police arrested 41 Bangladeshi Muslim infiltrators. They entered India illegally and procured Adhar Cards and worked in the different states of the country. They were arrested from Raninagar.
10. Birbhum(29.10.2024): In Bolpur town, a Biriyani Shop owner Muhammad Iqbal Alam stabbed a bull(which is revered as Nandi Maharaj by local Hindus). After receiving complaint, the police arrested Muhammad Iqbal Alam.
11. Darjeeling(30.10.2024): On the night of 30th October, around 11 PM, Islamists attacked a kali Puja Mandap in Jhokmolal area under the jurisdiction of Fansideoya Police Station of Darjeeling district. Angry Hindus protested in front of the police station demanding police action.
12. South 24 Parganas(31.10.2024): In Kanpur village, under the jurisdiction of Usthi Police Station, Islamists threatened Hindu villagers to stop loudspeakers of Kali Puja Mandap. When Hindu villagers refused to do so, Islamists attacked them. Islamists stabbed a Hindu villager.
13. Kolkata(31.10.2024): A Muslim youth named Raju Sheikh suddenly entered a Kali Puja Mandap in Dakshindari area and vandalised the Kali Murti. Raju then fled. Later, the Police arrested him.

NOVEMBER

1. Kolkata(01.11.2024): Islamists attacked the Kali Murti immersion procession in Razabazar area of Kolkata. Islamists pelted massive amount of stone towards the Hindus.
2. South 24 Parganas(03.11.2024): On the night of 3rd of November, unknown miscreants attacked a Kali Puja Mandap in Kamalgazi area under Sonarpur North Assembly Constituency. The Murti, Mandap and other things were vandalised and desecrated.
3. Nadia(07.11.2024): On the night of 7th of November, unknown miscreants attacked and vandalised under-construction Murtis of Ras Utsav in Nabadwip town. Local Hindus informed the Police.
4. Birbhum(11.11.2024): A dumper driver ran over a dog in Iswarpur village of Ahmedpur. A Hindu youth named Avik Bhattacharya protested. Driver Lalchand Sheikh attacked Hindu youth Avik with a sharp knife. Avik lost one finger of his left hand.
5. North Dinajpur(12.11.2024): Sarfaraz Khan allegedly abducted a minor Hindu girl(12) from Islampur. Her father filed a complaint in Islampur Police Station. The Police recovered the girl from Bihar on 12.11.2024. The Police also arrested Sarfaraz Khan. Earlier, the Police didn’t add POCSO against the accused, but after the intervention of the court, it was added.
6. Murshidabad(16.11.2024): On the night of Kartik Purnima, in Beldanga, Islamists attacked Hindus, Puja Mandaps. Few Puja Mandaps were set ablaze, Hindu homes and shops were attacked. Islamists used Facebook to incite mob against the Hindus.
7. North 24 Parganas(25.11.2024): In Shibpur village under the jurisdiction of Minakha Police Station, local Hindus alleged that Muslims are trying to grab the land of a Hindu crematorium ground. Muslim goons have been threatening them, alleged local Hindus.
8. Maldah(28.11.2024): West Bengal Police detained Sadhu Hiranmay Goswami Maharaj from a village under the jurisdiction of Ratua Police Station. He was in that village for Bgawad Katha program. He was taken to Kaliachak Police Station. After keeping him seated for hours, the police freed him.
9. Birbhum(28.11.2024): On the night of 28th of November, unknown miscreants attacked a Sri Hanuman Temple in Indragachcha village under the jurisdiction pf Siuri Police Station of Birbhum district. The Murti of Sri Hanuman was vandalised. Later, the Police repaired the Murti and installed inside the temple.

DECEMBER

1. Nadia(08.12.2024): Unknown miscreants attacked a Kali Mata temple in Nimtala village under the jurisdiction of Karimpur Police Station of Nadia district. Human feces were thrown at the Kali Murti. Miscreants also urinated inside the temple.
2. East Medinipur(17.12.2024): Islamists raised anti-Hindu slogans in Heria. Islamists raised slogans ‘Hindu hatao, desh banchao’. According to the locals, Islamists raised such slogans after winning in co-operative elections.
3. East Medinipur(20.12.2024): Islamists attacked a Hindu family in Shyamsundarpur village under the jurisdiction of Nandakumar Police Station. Islamists armed with sharp weapons, vandalised and looted the home, stabbed the Hindu woman with sharp weapon, stripped her naked and made her walk in the road. Local Hindus rushed to her and recovered her from the Islamist mob.
4. North Dinajpur(31.12.2024): Islamists attacked a Hindu family in Lohapunji village under the jurisdiction of Dalkhola Police station to grab the land. Hindu women were tortured and beaten with sticks. Even, a pregnant Hindu woman was beaten mercilessly.
