Kolkata: Mubarak murdered girlfriend Puja Chakraborty, put the body in a packet and threw it in the canal

The Kolkata Police identified the main accused in the shocking murder case of Parbati alias Puja Chakraborty(17). A tattoo in the hand of Puja helped to identify the accused Rahul Mubarak (19), said the police officials.

According to the reports, on the 23rd of July, the police recovered a dead body from Tali Canal. The body was put in a sack. The body was also rotten. 

After the recovery, the police sent the body for postmortem. During the procedure, the police found a tattoo on the hand of the girl. The tattoo was a name, ‘Mubarak’. The Police sent the photo to all the police stations in Kolkata. 

On the 28th of July, a woman named Papiya Chakraborty filed a missing complaint at the Sarshuna Police Station for her daughter. She said that her daughter had been missing since the 21st of July. The police showed her the photo of the girl and the photo of the tattoo. 

She identified her daughter.

She also informed that her daughter had a relationship with a youth named Rahul Mubarak(19). She was in a live-in relationship with him. Puja made a tattoo of Mubarak in her hand. Mubarak worked as a Cab driver.

Based on the information, the police of Regent Park Police Station launched an investigation. 

During the investigation, the police detained a girl named Dipsa, a friend of Puja. During the interrogation, it is known that in the early morning of the 21st of July, Mubarak and his friend came to her home and took Puja in a cab. 

The Police then arrested Mubarak’s friend. During the interrogation, Mubarak’s friend confessed to the crime. He said that they took Puja to Karunamoyee. There, they gave drugs to Puja with drinks. When Puja fell unconscious, they murdered her. Then, they put her body in a sack and threw the body in Tali Canal. 

As of now, Puja’s boyfriend, Rahul Mubarak, is absconding. Investigating officers suspect that Mubarak has fled to another state. All efforts are going to capture him, said investigating officers.
