West Bengal: Hindus are under attack in several districts

Soon after the results, Hindus are attacked in different parts of the South 24 Parganas district and Kolkata. Houses were vandalised, women were beaten, and bombs were hurled at Hindus. And the allegation is against the TMC-backed Islamists. 

As per the received information, yesterday evening, on the 4th of June, a gang of TMC-backed Islamists allegedly attacked a Hindu locality in the Charabidya area under the jurisdiction of Basanti Police Station of South 24 Parganas district. Armed with guns and bombs, TMC-backed Islamists attacked Hindu homes. Houses were vandalised. Also, bombs were hurled towards the local Hindu residents. 

Another report of anti-Hindu violence has been reported from the Bagmari village of Canning. The village comes under the Canning East Assembly Constituency. TMC-backed Islamists attacked the Hindus of the village. As per the local sources, more than 20 houses were vandalised. Many Hindus have already left the village in fear. 

In another incident from Kolkata’s Metiyaburuj, the home of a local BJP leader was attacked. The house and motorcycle were vandalised. 

Meanwhile, the Election Commission has extended the tenure of the Central Forces in the state. In the past, violence was seen in different parts of West Bengal. The Elections Commission, in an order, stated that the Central Forces would remain deployed in the state till the 14th of June.
