Blood on the Altar : Aged Devotee Found With his Throat Slit After Daily Puja Inside the Singibaari Mahashashan Kali Temple of Nilphamari District

Devotion met something unspeakable inside the Singibaari MahaShashan Kali Temple under Nilphamari District of Bangladesh on the morning of 14th April.

An elderly Hindu devotee, known in the area for his discipline and quiet faith, walked in for his daily puja after, as he had done countless times before. His routine never changed. Prayer came first and everything else came later.

That morning, he was preparing for a puja at home. He carried his usual kataari, telling family members he would return with banana leaves.

He never did. Instead, his body was found lying at the very feet of the deity he worshipped, his throat slit.

Family members and locals interviewed by Hindu Voice have emphatically claimed that this was neither suicide, nor some form of ritual self-harm. Those who knew him reject such suggestions outright. They describe a man of discipline, routine and devotion without any reason to end his life in such a horrific manner.

A Pattern Written in Blood

Another gruesome killing had shocked religious minorities across Bangladesh, after 45 year Gopal Chandra was beheaded by Muhammad Samrat and Muhammad Raju on 13.03.2026.

According to documentation cited by Hindu Voice and local human rights observers, eight Hindus were killed in what are alleged to be communally motivated attacks between February 13 and March 15. Broader figures are even more alarming, the Human Rights Congress for Bangladesh Minorities had documented the death of over 116 Hindus between 06.06.2025 and 05.01.2026.

These numbers are not just statistics. They cast an ever-present shadow of fear among religious minorities, indicating to them that they can targeted at any time, in any place, for any reason.

Silence is not an option. Dismissal is not an option. Every such incident that is left unaddressed chips away at the foundations of trust and stability.

Justice must be swift and visible.
