Hindu Voice Desk: A shocking case has been reported from the Narail district of Bangladesh. Islamists allegedly gang-raped a Hindu woman and poured poison in her mouth. The woman dies while she was undergoing treatment in the hospital.
The deceased woman has been identified as Basana Mallik. Basana Mallik was a resident of Poradanga village under Maijpara Union of Narail district. She was a elected member of the Union Parishad from the Maijpara Union Seat.
On the 24th of December, some local Islamists called her to meet. There, the Islamists took her to a deserted house. There, she was tortured and gang-raped. Later, the Islamists poured poison in her mouth and left. She somehow managed to reach home and told her family about the incident.
The family took her to the local hospital. As her condition detoriated, the doctors referred her to the Jessore District Hospital. There, she died on 27th of December.
Her daughter alleged that before death, her mother told the names of the culprits. She told that Rajibul, Osman and others tortured and raped her.
The incident shocked the whole district. Hearing the news, other members of the Union Parishad reached her home. Also, the police was informed. The police officially launched an investigation. As of now, the Police arrested one accused Islamist so far. Search for others have been going on.
