Hindu Voice Desk: A total of six individuals from Bangladesh were arrested on the 22nd of December, Sunday while attempting to illegally cross into Assam through the Bharat-Bangladesh international border.
The suspects were apprehended after they tried to infiltrate Assam, breaching border security.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Mustafizur Rahman, Kabbo Cruze, Md. Lelin Mia, Sirazul Islam, Saiful Islam, and Muktar Hussain.
The Assam Police acted swiftly and lawfully to detain them during their attempt to enter the state. Later, they were pushed back to Bangladesh.
In an another incident on the 23rd of December, Monday, the South Shalmara Police arrested 16 Bangladeshi Muslim infiltrators from the Mankachar area. After returning from Bengaluru, they were hiding in a house in the area.
Based on the secret information, a team of South Shalmara Police launched a search operations and apprehended them. During the primary interrogation, they couldn’t show any valid documents of Bharatiya citizenship.
The arrested Bangladeshi citizens have been identified as Zakir Sheikh, Md Mehdi Hasan, Rumana Akhtar, Md Rizwan Hawaldar, Jamal Sheikh, Beauty Begum, Munni Begum, Nushrat Jahan, Rustam Sheikh, Rubel Qureshi, Chand Miyan and 5 children.
