Saleem Wastik, Critic of Islamic Practices Stabbed and Hospitalised in Ghaziabad; Condition Critical

Hindu Voice Team: A violent and shocking attack was carried out early Friday morning on Saleem Wastik, a known social media commentator who publicly criticised Islamic practices and identified himself as an “ex-Muslim.” The incident took place at about 6 a.m. near his residence in the Loni area of Ghaziabad.

According to police and multiple media reports, two unidentified assailants arrived on a motorcycle, were wearing helmets, and forcibly entered the vicinity of Wastik’s home before launching a brutal knife attack on him. He suffered deep wounds to his neck, chest and abdomen, and was found bleeding by neighbours.

Wastik was first taken to a local hospital in serious condition and later referred to Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Hospital in Delhi for advanced treatment. Hospital sources have described his condition as critical, and he is reportedly fighting for his life.

The victims’ family and associates told reporters that Wastik’s outspoken criticism of conservative Islamic beliefs and practices had generated controversy and, in recent times, opposition from some quarters. They believe the attack was intended to silence his voice, though the police have not confirmed any motive publicly and continue to investigate all possible angles.

Local police have registered a case and are reviewing CCTV footage to identify and apprehend the attackers. No arrests have been announced so far. Authorities have also stepped up patrols in the area while investigations continue.
