Hindu Voice Team: In a major breakthrough against cross-border terrorism, the Delhi Police Special Cell has arrested Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist Shabbir Ahmad Lone, a key operative accused of orchestrating anti-India terror activities from Bangladesh.

According to officials, Lone was not just a foot soldier but a handler of a recently busted terror module, actively coordinating operations aimed at destabilizing India. His arrest follows an intensive intelligence-led operation and is being seen as a critical success in dismantling transnational terror networks.

Investigators revealed that Lone had been operating from Bangladesh, where he allegedly ran a covert Lashkar network under the direction of Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI. From there, he is believed to have recruited operatives, including illegal entrants, and directed terror plots targeting Indian cities.

Security agencies also linked him to a wider terror ecosystem that had recently come under scrutiny, including propaganda activities and groundwork for possible attacks. His role highlights a dangerous cross-border command structure, with planning in Pakistan, execution networks in Bangladesh, and targets inside India.

Lone is a seasoned militant with a long history of involvement in terrorism. He had earlier been arrested in 2007 with arms and explosives and reportedly maintained links with top Lashkar leadership, including figures associated with past major terror attacks.

Officials described the arrest as highly significant, noting that it exposes how terror groups continue to exploit neighboring territories to regroup and launch operations against India. Interrogation is currently underway to uncover the full extent of the network, including funding channels, sleeper cells, and potential future threats.

Authorities have emphasized that this operation sends a strong message: India’s security agencies remain vigilant and capable of neutralizing even deeply embedded cross-border terror threats.
