Attacks on Hindu temples continue in Bangladesh. Even after the election, the cases of atrocities and attacks didn’t stop. A fresh case of an attack on a Hindu temple has been coming from the Thakurgaon district.

As per the reports, on the night of the 9th of January, a gang of Islamists attacked a Kali Mata temple at Panchar Union under the Ranishankaul Upazila of Thakurgaon district. Islamists cut all the trees around the temple, broke the temple and the Murti and burnt them. Some local Hindu minorities tried to stop the Islamists. But, Islamists were armed with sharp weapons, so they fled in fear.

Local Hindu residents said that the temple is situated on the land of the Hindu crematorium ground. But, for the past few years, Islamists have been trying to grab the land. Even Islamist Samshul made legal papers in his name with the help of govt officials. A case is already going on in court. However, Islamists are trying to grab the land by force, ignoring the court and the law of the land.

Notably, recently, Sheikh Hasina won the election. But, soon after the results, Hindu minorities are facing attacks all over Bangladesh. Hindus were being murdered, houses were attacked, temples were broken and so on. But Sheikh Hasina is silent. She used not a single word to condemn these attacks. In this situation, Hindu minorities are living helplessly.
