A case of burglary has been reported from the Guwahati town of Assam, where three Hindu temples were targeted. Unknown miscreants stole valuable things from the temples. The incident happened on Friday night.
Sources said the items were stolen, including cash from donation boxes as well as valuable ornaments and utensils and old sacred scriptures.
On the night of the 29th of March, unidentified burglars entered a Naam Ghar, situated in the Narengi area under the jurisdiction of Noomati Police Station. The burglars, breaking into the Namghar, raided the donation chamber of the complex, including the storage room and the precious items kept at the shrine.
Apart from looting the ‘Naam Ghar’, the thieves also vandalised the chambers of the Namghar.
Not only that, the unidentified burglars also entered a Laxmi and Shiva temple adjacent to the Naam Ghar. By breaking the doors of those temples, burglars entered. Donation boxes of the temples were broken, and all the money was looted.
Later, a team of Police reached there after receiving complaint from the Naam Ghar management committee. An investigation has been launched to identify the burglars.
