Hindu Voice Team: Islamists tried to grab the land of a 200 year old Hindu temple in Ilambazar of Birbhum district. A viral video shows a group of local Muslims forcibly seizing the temple premises, while influential leaders of the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) are allegedly extending direct support, making the situation more explosive. The incident happened on 29th of August, 2025.
Eyewitnesses alleged, “Our temple land is being captured, and yet the police and administration remain silent spectators. Whenever we protest, miscreants close to the Trinamool threaten us with dire consequences.”
Members of the Hindu community in Ilambazar voiced fears, “If the Trinamool government continues for another five years, Hindus of West Bengal will face the same fate as Hindus of Bangladesh—on the verge of extinction.”
The BJP has directly accused, “This is not mere land grabbing; it is a systematic assault on Hindu religious institutions. For the sake of Muslim appeasement, Trinamool is destroying the trust and faith of Hindus.”
BJP further asserted that such lawlessness and religious discrimination prove the end of TMC’s rule is near, and that in the 2026 Assembly elections, BJP will rise to power as the sole guardian of Hindu faith and trust.
On the other hand, the Trinamool leadership outright rejected all allegations, stating, “This is nothing but BJP’s political propaganda. The allegations of temple land encroachment are baseless.”
However, local residents remain convinced that TMC leaders orchestrated the land-grab by employing Muslim goons to execute the act of desecration.
Demands from Hindu Organizations and Civic Bodies
Three-point demands have been raised:
• Immediate eviction of illegal encroachment from the temple land.
• Strict legal action against those involved in the incident.
• Effective administrative measures to prevent future encroachment attempt of religious property.
The viral video has triggered a storm of reactions across social media.
Many netizens wrote, “This is not just land-grabbing, it is a direct attack on Hindu culture and faith.”
Some progressive citizens, however, urged for peaceful resolution through administrative intervention to safeguard communal harmony. Yet, the majority of voices demanded immediate resistance against TMC’s blatant misconduct, warning that otherwise, the sons of this soil may once again be uprooted from their ancestral land.
According to political analysts, the Birbhum episode stands as yet another “document” of Hindu existential crisis. The administration’s inaction, TMC’s appeasement policies, and repeated attacks on Hindu religious institutions are reshaping the political equations of the state at a rapid pace.
