West Bengal: Land grabbing attempt in Purba Bardhaman district by Islamists in the name of Waqf

Hindu Voice Team: A serious case of land grabbing attempt has been received from the Purba Bardhaman district of West Bengal. Islamists forcefully tried to grab the land of the Janajatiya people with the help of the Police and the administration.

As per the local sources, 4.62 acres of land is situated in the Tengaberia village under the jurisdiction of Jamalpur Police Station of the Purba Bardhaman district. The land has all the valid documents. Local Janajatiya people has been using the land for more than hundred of years for festivals and dharmic rituals.

But, suddenly some leaders of the Muslim community declared that the land is a Waqf property. They also said that the land will be used as a graveyard. Local Janajatiya people protested. But, with the help of the police and the administration, the Muslims started to build boundary wall. 

Local Janajatiya people said that they have all the valid documents. They alleged that with fraudulent means, the land has been transferred to the Waqf Board. They suspected of political involvement behind this. 

Meanwhile, local Janajatiya people said that they will protect the land at any cost. They will organise bigger protest throughout the district with their community of the administration fails to protect their interest.
