West Bengal: Islamist attacks Shitala Mata Murti in Baruipur, burned the Murti after vandalism

Hindu Voice Team: A case of attack and vandalism of Hindu temple has come from the South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. In Baruipur, an Islamist attacked a Shitala Mata temple. The Islamist vandalised the Murti of the Shitala Mata and then burnt the Murti. Local Hindus caught the Islamist and informed the Police. Later, the Islamist was handed over to the Police. 

As per the local sources, on the early morning of the 7th of March, an Islamist attacked the shitala Mata temple in Fultala village under the jurisdiction of the Baruipur Police Station. After vandalising the Murti, the Islamist set ablaze the Murti. Local Hindu rushed and caught the Islamist who had been trying to flee. During enquiry, the Islamist said his name is Atrak Molla. 

However, the Police reached the spot after receiving the information. The Police detained the accused Islamist and took him to the station. Later, he was arrested. Why he did this is not clear yet, said sources. 

However, in the past months, in the several districts of West Bengal, Hindus are becoming the victim of Jihad motivated attacks. On the night of the 5th of March, Islamists attacked a Harinama Sankirtan program in Konar village under the jurisdiction of Harishchandrapur Police Station of Maldah district. Islamists threw bricks towards the devotees who attended the Harinama Sankirtana program. Few Hindu devotees got injured in the attack.
