Hindu Voice Team: A disturbing incident has sparked fresh outrage in Bangladesh’s Naogaon district, as the lifeless body of Nitai Das, a Hindu resident, was discovered early Wednesday morning in Sennagar village under Aranagar Union of Dhamoirhat upazila. The victim was found lying face down on the Chakbadan–Chakgaria road, showing signs of a violent assault.
Local villagers first spotted the body and immediately informed authorities. Witnesses said Nitai Das appeared to have been attacked and left to die on the roadside during the night. His tragic death has reignited widespread fear and anger among members of the Hindu community, who allege that such killings are becoming distressingly routine across different parts of the country.
According to locals, this is not an isolated incident. Over the past few months, several cases of murder, intimidation, and displacement targeting Hindus have been reported from rural Bangladesh. Many community members and activists accuse the interim government led by Muhammad Yunus of turning a blind eye to the violence—or worse, allowing extremist groups, often referred to as the “Yunus Bahini,” to operate unchecked.
Residents of Dhamoirhat claim that these recurring murders are part of a deliberate effort to drive out Bangladesh’s Hindu population, a fear that has deepened amid the ongoing political instability. They also expressed frustration over the inaction of law enforcement agencies, noting that most previous incidents of minority killings have gone unpunished.
Though police have confirmed the recovery of the body and said an investigation is underway, no suspects have yet been detained. Human rights groups are demanding an impartial investigation under international supervision, warning that continued inaction could lead to a major humanitarian and communal crisis.
The killing of Nitai Das stands as yet another grim reminder of the growing vulnerability of religious minorities in Bangladesh—an issue that now threatens not only domestic peace but also the regional stability and security of neighboring India.
