According to BSF, jawans were in duty saw a man coming towards wired fencing. BSF jawans detained him. Upon searching, 12 gold bars found wrapped in plastic, total weight is 1.394 kg. Market value of seized gold is INR 81 Lac approximately.

Opon interrogation, smuggler Abdul Latif Sardar said that he was bringing the gold bars from Bangladesh and was to deliver to another person.

Later, BSF handed the recovered gold bars over to Tetulia customs.

It is alleged that due to increasing patrolling along the borders, smugglers are now changing their techniques. Most of them are now smuggling golds, spices rather than cows. But BSF foiled their efforts.
