Hindu Voice Desk: The persecution of the Hindu minorities has been continuing. Amid the ongoing persecution, Islamists are now targeting Hindu youths under the imaginary blasphemy charges. Hindu youths are being framed and arrested under blasphemy charges now and then. A fresh case has been reported from the Sunamganj district of Bangladesh.

The arrested Hindu youth, Akash Singha is a resident of the Dharmapasha Upazila. On the 18th of November, some Islamists reached the Dharmapasha Police Station and filed a complaint against Akash Singha. The Islamists alleged that Akash wrote obscene words about Islam and its prophet Muhammad and they demanded his arrest. Acting on the complaint, the Police immediately arrested the youth under the Digital security Act.

Hindu Voice tried to contact his family , but couldn’t. But, we talked to several Hindu activists of Bangladesh to know the real situation there. As per them, Akash Singha is innocent. Some unknown people created a facebook profile in his name and posted derogatory words about Islam. Thus, Musim mobs were incited against him. They also emphasized that framing Hindu minorities under blasphemy is not new in Bangladesh. During the rule of Sheikh Hasina or the present Yunus-led Interim Govt. the reality didn’t change.
