Hindu Voice Team: In a significant move against alleged online hate and provocative content, a court in Punjab has directed Google to disclose detailed information related to the YouTube channel of Nationalist Journalist and Youtuber Ajeet Bharti, following controversial posts.
The order was passed by Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) Dazy Bangarh on February 9, in response to an application filed by the Cyber Crime Unit of Ludhiana. The case stems from a criminal investigation into objectionable social media content allegedly posted against the former CJI.
According to the court, the posts were allegedly intended to incite violence, undermine respect for constitutional institutions, and insult a member of the Scheduled Caste community. Authorities had registered a First Information Report (FIR) in the matter on October 8, 2025, marking the beginning of formal legal action.
The court has directed Google to provide comprehensive details about the YouTube channel, including subscriber information, IP logs, upload history, and identities of individuals responsible for publishing the contentious content. It also permitted law enforcement agencies to seek removal of the disputed material in accordance with legal procedures.
Former CJI BR Gavai had previously faced intense criticism and attacks, both online and offline, following his remarks in a case involving the restoration of a vandalized idol of Lord Vishnu in Khajuraho. The controversy escalated to the extent that an advocate once attempted to throw a shoe at him during court proceedings, highlighting the gravity of hostility surrounding the issue.
Media reports earlier suggested that Ajeet Bharti and others were booked for allegedly “casteist” and “provocative” remarks made in videos published before and after the incident. Bharti had subsequently approached the Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking protection from coercive action by the Punjab Police.
It’s not the first time that Ajeet Bharti, a prominent face among Nationalist circle and hated by the Congress and Left supporters, has been targeted. Earlier, complaints were filed against Ajeet Bharti in Congress-ruled states with imaginary allegations. Many alleged that this is an attempt to silence the popular and nationalist voice of Ajeet Bharti.
