Hindu Voice Team: A viral social media video alleging that the Quran had been burned inside a Hindu temple in Hathazari has been exposed as a fabricated attempt to incite communal unrest.
Local authorities, including the Additional Superintendent of Police of Hathazari Circle and the Officer-in-Charge of Hathazari Police Station, swiftly inspected the site alongside respected community leaders. Their investigation confirmed that the video bore no resemblance to reality. The temple featured in the footage does not exist in Hathazari, and no Durga idol has been installed at the local temple yet — contradicting the visuals shown online.
Chattragram District Police declared the video to be baseless and spread with “malicious intent.” Officials urged citizens not to believe or share unverified content and called for unity to protect Bangladesh’s tradition of communal harmony.
Authorities further assured that both online platforms and physical spaces are being closely monitored, and that strict legal measures will be taken against those spreading inflammatory disinformation.
