Islamists in Bangladesh have been using imaginary blasphemy allegations to target and torture Hindu minorities for last few months. A fresh case has been reported from the Lalmonirhat district of Bangladesh.

Based on the imaginary blasphemy allegations, Islamists targeted and tortured a Hindu father and his son in broad daylight. Later, the Police detained them and took them to the Police Station.

As per the received information, Bishnu Chandra Shil and his father Paresh Chandra Shil live in the Goshala market area of the Lalmonirhat district. Some Islamists spread rumours that they made obscene remarks against Islam’s prophet Muhammad. As the rumours spread, Islamists gathered in the market.

A local informed that Islamists dragged them out of their home and started to beat them. The father-son duo tried their best to explain that they didn’t insult Islam’s prophet Muhammad. But, Islamists mob didn’t listen to them. The beating continued for half an hour.

However, the Police rushed to the market and recovered the father-son duo from the clutches of the Islamists mob. Later, the police arrested the father Paresh Chandra Shil after receiving complaint from a local Islamist.

Targeting Hindu minorities over the imaginary blasphemy allegations is not new. After the fall of Sheikh Hasina-led government, radical Islamists have targeted and ruined lives of hundreds of Hindu minorities in Bangladesh. Many Hindu minorities were targeted in the past because of their goverment post and all those were done by their Muslim subordinate employees. School teachers and professors were being targeted and terminated by this imaginary blasphemy allegations.
